Last updated · Wildly 1.0.0
A quick read for players
Your adventure and parent settings stay on your device. You do not need to give Wildly your name or make an account to play.
If the game breaks, it sends a technical report to Sentry so we can find and fix the fault. That report includes information about your device and the error, but no recording of your play. Crash reporting is enabled and has no in-game off switch.
There are no ads, player chat or active purchases in this version. Gameplay counters are not sent to PostHog. If you visit our website, Vercel measures visits. If you email us, we receive your address and what you write.
You can ask a trusted adult to help with a privacy request. Never send us your parent PIN or recovery code.
Who looks after your information?
Chewy Bytes Limited, a UK software company, makes Wildly and is responsible for the information described here. Email hello@chewybytes.com with a privacy question or request. A parent or guardian may contact us on behalf of a young player.
Your adventure and settings
Wildly stores each animal’s progress, discoveries, earned coats, sound and touch preferences, parent settings and reminder choices on your device. The parent PIN and recovery code are stored as salted hashes rather than plain text.
These files let you resume play and keep your settings. Wildly does not provide a game account or its own cloud-save service. Your operating system’s backup or device-transfer service may include app data, depending on your settings and its own policy.
When something goes wrong
Wildly sends crash and error reports over HTTPS to Sentry to help us diagnose faults and improve reliability. Reports include the app and operating-system versions, device model and graphics details, error types, stack frames and identifiers for the report and software binaries. Depending on the platform, technical context also includes memory, battery, storage, connection and app-start information. Reports may be temporarily stored on your device and sent later, including after restarting following a crash.
We configure reporting to exclude screenshots, screen recordings, session replay and performance tracing. We filter user fields, installation identifiers, device names, breadcrumbs, free-text error details and absolute source or device-container paths from the diagnostic fields covered by our filters. Sentry also scrubs IP addresses in new stored reports. Software filenames, report IDs and binary identifiers remain so we can locate faults.
These measures do not make all processing anonymous. Sentry and network providers handle connection information when a report is sent. Filtering does not remove reports already received from earlier versions. Parent settings do not turn crash reporting off or provide consent for collection.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your question and investigate the issue. Our mailbox is hosted by Google. Send only what is needed, and do not include a child’s name, PIN, recovery code or private save files.
We currently have no automatic deletion schedule for support correspondence. Messages remain in the mailbox unless we delete them or handle a valid deletion request. You can request removal by emailing hello@chewybytes.com.
When you visit our website
Vercel hosts our website and provides Web Analytics. Analytics measures page visits, referrers, approximate locations and device/browser information without tracking cookies. It uses a request-derived hash to distinguish visits during a session, which is discarded after 24 hours; aggregate statistics can remain longer. We remove URL query strings and fragments from analytics events and do not send names, email addresses, PINs or recovery codes as custom events.
Vercel and network providers also process connection information, including your IP address, to deliver and protect the website. Hosting records may include the requested path and browser details. Our project has no configured log drains or Observability Plus. Vercel’s published Pro runtime-log window is one day; this does not mean every security record or backup is deleted after one day.
The site has no contact form, advertising or embedded videos. Email links open your chosen email application and do not automatically send a message.
Why we use this information
Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in diagnosing faults, maintaining a reliable and secure game and website, understanding aggregate website use, and answering support enquiries. We limit diagnostic data and do not use it for advertising, behavioural profiles or automated decisions about players.
We also process information where necessary to meet legal obligations, including handling applicable privacy requests. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us. We will consider your circumstances, including the interests of young players.
Who can receive information?
Our service providers include Sentry for diagnostics, Vercel for website hosting and analytics, and Google for support email. Authorized Chewy Bytes operators and tools connected to our Sentry organization can access diagnostic information for fault investigation. Installed Sentry integrations include Expo and Shortcut with project/event permissions. Provider staff and their service providers may also process information to operate and protect their services.
We may disclose information when legally required or when necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Apple, Google and your operating system may separately process installation, backup or diagnostic information under their own policies and your settings.
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Storage, transfers and retention
Our Sentry organization stores error events in its US region, which Sentry identifies as Iowa. Our Team plan’s published error-event retention is 90 days. This event-access period is not a promise that every backup or service record disappears at the same time. Sentry describes backup retention separately and processes information through its service providers.
Our providers operate internationally, so information can be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Applicable provider processing agreements include safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses and UK transfer provisions. You can contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your request.
Local adventure data remains on your device until removed. Support correspondence has no automatic deletion schedule, as explained above. Provider security records, legal records and backups may be retained separately under applicable requirements and provider retention arrangements.
Your choices and privacy requests
Deleting Wildly or clearing its storage may permanently remove local progress and parent settings. Offloading the app or restoring a backup can retain or restore data. Use your device and backup settings to manage those copies. We cannot remotely restore a deleted adventure.
Removing the app does not delete diagnostic reports already received. Email hello@chewybytes.com to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or to object to processing. Rights depend on your location. A parent or guardian can help make a request. We may need proportionate information to locate records and verify authority; never provide your PIN or recovery code.
There is no game account linking your email to a diagnostic report. An email address alone may not let us identify a report. We will explain that limitation and consider other information you can safely provide. Sentry groups events into issues; where a deletion request concerns an issue containing unrelated players’ reports, we review it with the responsible operator and provider rather than deleting other people’s information. Deleting live records does not establish immediate deletion of every backup.
We normally respond to applicable UK privacy requests within one month and explain any permitted extension. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or the data-protection authority where you live.
Teen players and families
Wildly’s first release targets players aged 13 and over and includes animal hunting and combat. Check the content rating shown by your store. Parent settings provide break reminders and protected settings; they do not prove age or consent for data collection.
We do not ask for a player’s name, age or email during play. A parent or guardian may handle support requests for a young player and should avoid sending identifying information about them. If such information is sent inadvertently, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the game or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest update. Material changes will be accompanied by any notice or consent required by applicable law.
